Membership and Visiting

Becoming a member

New York City Aikido (NYCA) welcomes beginners and aikido practitioners of all affiliations.  Currently the dojo offers adult classes only.  Kids or childrens classes may be added in the future.  Experienced practitioners and beginners should contact us if interesting in joining our dojo.  NYCA is a member of Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU).

Member dues

Members may train unlimited regular classes with us.  Dues are to paid (to TASL Arts, LLC) by calendar month ($120 per month if by account deduction, or $135 per month by cash or check), at the start of each month.  This does not cover annual dues to Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU), or testing fees.

As membership dues are important for us to be able to provide classes on an ongoing basis, even if you do not expect to train that calendar month, NYCA appreciates your continuing support through dues payments.

Please contact us if you are interested in a supporting membership (i.e., you would like to support the dojo, but do not expect to train, or are an out-of-town visitor).

Visitors

Visitors with an existing aikido practice may be invited to train with us by paying a $25 mat fee (cash only) per day.  Please give us a heads up if you plan to visit.

Paperwork

Here are links to some paperwork that will be required of all new members and visitors, as well as some basic rules and etiquette (applicable to all ASU dojos).
